OVERVIEW

MBOT offers a comprehensive registration structure that categorises professionals into Technologists and Technicians, with each category consisting of two distinct stages of registration: Entry Level and Professional Level

The registration categories for the Technologist category are as follows:

The Graduate Technologist category is for individuals who have completed a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field of study. This level signifies the transition from academic education to professional practice, where graduates apply the theoretical knowledge gained during their studies to real-world scenarios.

The Professional Technologist (Ts.) category is for individuals who have a minimum of 3 years of relevant working experience in the field and complied with all of the criteria determined by the Board. This level recognises those who have gained significant practical expertise and are able to operate independently, leading and managing technical projects, providing innovative solutions, and advising organisations on complex technological challenges.

The registration categories for the Technician category are as follows:

The Qualified Technician category is for individuals who have attained MQF (Malaysian Qualifications Framework) Level 3 to MQF Level 5 qualifications. This level represents the transition from formal technical education to professional practice, where certificate holders apply the skills and knowledge they gained during their training to real-world technical tasks.

The Certified Technician (Tc.) category is for individuals with a minimum of 3 years of relevant working experience in their field and complied with all of the criteria determined by the Board. This level recognises those who  demonstrate their ability to manage projects, oversee technical operations, and lead teams, all while applying their expertise to solve complex challenges.
